Medical Qigong

What we call Medical Qigong today comes from some of the oldest recorded healing traditions of China. Today it is considered one of the main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a treatment modality, it provides a whole person approach to wellness. The practitioner identifies areas of disrupted energy flow within the body then seeks to restore these areas. This is a root cause approach rather than symptom-based treatment.

While Medical Qigong is not a replacement for medical treatment, it is often used in conjunction with traditional medicine to help manage symptoms and promote overall well-being. It can also used as a part of ones spiritual practice to facilitate personal transformation.

What is a session like?

Many clients describe receiving Medical Qigong therapy as deeply relaxing and restorative. The sessions are conducted with the client lying on a massage table while remaining fully clothed. The practitioner uses both hands-on and hands-off techniques to assess, move, and revitalize the energies of the body, mind, and spirit creating smooth flow and harmony.

The practitioner may also recommend and teach gentle qigong exercises, meditations, or breathwork to aid clients in maintaining and continuing gains made during treatment.
