Whole Life Wellness

What do you imagine that feeling well would be like? Sometimes, we've felt unwell for so long or have been taught to focus only on unpleasant symptoms or what’s “wrong with us” that we don't know what wellness really is. We think our health and wellbeing are out of our control. What’s more, even if we were well, we might not recognize it.

The truth is, we are truly amazing, resilient beings.

When provided with the appropriate conditions, our bodies have a remarkable, innate ability to heal and maintain health and vitality throughout our lifespan. At this point, I imagine that you might be asking, what are these conditions? I’m glad you asked. And, I don’t have a simple answer. Each person comes into this world with a different makeup (think ancestry, genetics, pregnancy and birth conditions, growth environment, etc.) and have varied experiences in the world that affect overall wellbeing. So, each person has various elements of themselves that are stronger and more resilient than others. This means that to define wellness for each person we look at the WHOLE person and assess each element.

Working toward whole person wellness might include looking at parts of your life that you don’t usually think of affecting your health and wellbeing:

  • relationships

  • work/life purpose

  • creativity

  • spirituality

  • sexuality

  • your environment

  • finances

  • mental health

  • physical health

There is no part of us that doesn’t affect another part. Since we are usually taught to look at unpleasant symptoms, often, we've learned to only look at those. The symptoms we notice are simply signals that one or more of the elements is out of alignment. Once the misalignments are identified, we can work to create effective change and achieve the vibrant life we long for.

Start your whole living journey today and gain a deeper understanding of how these elements are working (or not) in your life and take control of your own wellness.
